The Grand Seiko SBGC253 Spring Drive Chronograph GMT is Previewed

The SBGC253 Spring Drive Chronograph GMT is the newest model in Grand Seiko's sport line.

The clock, which was designed with the watchmaker's lion logo in mind, pays respect to the beast through a variety of its features.

Its angular, pointed corners resemble a lion's claw. The lugs that connect the case to its link bracelet have a hairline finish, which sets them apart from the Zaratsu-polished components.

High-intensity titanium was used to make the case and bracelet, making them not only more brilliant than stainless steel but also more lighter and more comfortable to wear.

Due to the piece's low center of gravity and bent lugs, it can also be worn comfortably on the wrist.

The ivory white dial features a "lion's mane" patterned pattern that glitters brilliantly at any angle where the light catches it.

A green Lumibrite coating is applied to the hands and indices to improve legibility. For nighttime visibility, the bezel and GMT hand both have blue coatings.

Technically speaking, the SBGC253 is built to withstand 20ATM of water resistance, and its 72-hour power reserve is provided by the 9R86 caliber.

a suggested retail price of $12,000 USD, the SBGC253 Grand Seiko Spring Drive Chronograph GMT is scheduled to go on sale in March.
